It appears to be happening again in the Wisconsin Legislature: Republicans appear to show some willingness to compromise on an issue, only to turn around and add what’s known as a “poison pill,” some other bill or amendment that’s terrible and undoes whatever compromise Republicans were pretending to embrace.
